Montezuma's Castle

Up The Grand Canyon Montezuma's Castle Sedona

These are some of the photographs taken at the Montezuma Castle National Monument.  The 12th century castle is really a man made stone dwelling that is five stories tall and sits about 100ft above the valley in the recess of a cliff.  Its location has helped it to be very well preserved and protected from the elements and park visitors.  I can see why they picked this place since water is near by.  I don't know how the Sinagua moms and dads got the nerve to take their kids up and down from there.  It looks pretty scary to me.

How the castle was used

Another favorite shot.

This looked like a cool picture of the castle because it was framed by the nearby trees.
